Create Belief Race Preview Create Belief runs tomorrow at The Curragh in the Spring Fillies Handicap over 1 mile for 3-year-old fillies at 4.25pm. Ben Coen has been booked to ride. She is drawn in stall 11 of 14 runners.
The Curragh is holding a precautionary inspection at 7.30am tomorrow as parts of the track are currently waterlogged with more rain forecast today.
A competitive looking handicap as you’d expect for a race on Irish Guineas day. First, let’s just hope that racing goes ahead!
The bare result for Create Belief at Navan was disappointing last month, however we believe there were a couple of things against her which were the trip and ground. With two furlongs to run she looked as if she would be in the money but weakened entering the final furlong and she probably didn’t quite let herself down on the quick ground.
When she won her maiden at Gowran Park it was soft ground and over a mile. She galloped all the way through the line which suggested that a step up two furlongs in trip wouldn’t be a problem, however at this stage of her career, a mile looks to be her distance.
Tomorrow represents a drop in grade from a listed race into a handicap with ground and trip in her favour so we are hopeful of a big run. The form of her maiden win has worked out very well with the third winning her next two starts and now rated 98. The fourth came out and won next time out and a few more horses in behind Create Belief that day have run well since.
Holly Golightly for Ger Lyons is unexposed and been given a mark of 87 for winning her maiden a fortnight ago. Boyne River for Joseph O’Brien looks to be on a handy mark of 83. Both look to be the horses we’ve all got to beat.
Johnny Murtagh reported “Create Belief is fit, well and ready for The Curragh. Niall McCullagh rode her exercise during the week and was happy with her. The ground and trip look to be in her favour so hopefully she runs a big race. As always with a Curragh handicap, they are tough competitive races but we feel she’ll go well.”
Create Belief looks to be fair each way value.
