Mise En Scene Irish 1000 Guineas Review
Mise En Scene finished 11th in yesterday's Irish 1000 Guineas. Obviously a disappointing run however with it being her seasonal reappearance we have to give her the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.
She was slowly away from the stalls and had to be chivied along to get up towards the pace. From three furlongs from home she was outpaced when the pace quickened up front. She will now be stepped up in trip.
Mise En Scene's jockey Cieren Fallon said post race;
"She was good as gold pre-race but stood on her back legs as the gates opened which meant she was slowly away. She then got a decent position and travelled nicely but as soon as they picked the pace up she got outpaced. She needs stepping up in trip probably to a mile and a half. She was a little bit ring rusty and is having a good blow after the race. I'm sure she'll come on plenty for that."
Mise En Scene's trainer James Ferguson said this morning;
I was obviously very disappointed with her run. She missed the break and was on the back foot from there. I think she needs stepping up in trip and I also think the run will sharpen her up. She's eaten up this morning and seems fine. She will travel back to Newmarket today and I will update in a few days time. Hopefully we can put a line through that run as we all know she is far better than that and fingers crossed she bounces back in her next race and shows everyone how good I know she is."
