Riot finished 6th of 13 at Gowran Park today.
His trainer Johnny Murtagh said,
"A much better showing from Riot today and it looks like he's coming back to form. It's hard to come from the back in Gowran but I don't think that has done him any harm. I'm going to run him plenty and keep him going. He's starting to toughen up and we'll now stretch him out to a mile next time. I think we've worked out he's not a sprinter, he doesn't have that natural speed to be a sprinter. I'm also going to put a tongue tie on him. Shane said he made a little bit of a noise pulling up so that could help him. Overall much happier today and hopefully his turn will come in the near future."
His jockey Shane Kelly said,
I thought he ran a bit better and he showed more enthusiasm. He stayed on, nowhere really to go but it was a bit more encouraging from him. He jumped and he travelled a bit. He was able for the hustle and bustle, I think a mile round a bend will be no problem for him and maybe stick a tongue tie on him."
