Riot Habitat Premier Handicap Review

Riot finished 13th in the Habitat Premier Handicap at the Curragh yesterday.

He travelled nicely in the early part of the race but ended up racing towards the far side of the track away from the pace. The race developed against him and he stayed on at one pace.

Riot's jockey Shane Kelly said post race;

"He's actually ran ok. I got stuck over on the far side of the track and all the pace was away from me. He got trapped out there and the race got away from him."

Riot's trainer Johnny Murtagh said this morning;

"Riot slightly disappointed me yesterday. Going into the race I thought he was in great form, fresh and well and I expected him to be competitive. The race panned out against him however I thought he'd have finished nearer. We'll see how he comes out of the race and also what the handicapper does as he should get dropped at least a couple of pounds for that. Maybe going back up in trip is what he needs and I might even give him a go over a mile and see how he gets on."
