27 May 2021: Balko Des Flos Update
Balko Des Flos is in great form and enjoying his well earned holiday. He is at Rathmore Stud in County Limerick and loving time out in the field and eating plenty of grass!
It has been very wet over in Ireland but the weather is set to improve so he'll enjoy some sun on his back throughout June and the start of July before coming back into light exercise in the middle of July. The break will do him the world of good both mentally and physically and we can't wait to see him back in action later in the year.

As soon as RacehorseClub is paid, your account balance will be credited with your winnings. Balko Des Flos has spent most of the week indoors due to the rain over in Ireland. He is in great form and there'll be pictures and videos of him next week, hopefully once the weather fairs up.

23 April 2021: Balko Des Flos update
"Good afternoon everyone. Just to let you know Balko Des Flos has come out of the Grand National in exceptional form. Myself and the team here at Knockeen are all so proud of his performance that day.
He really is a yard favourite and was given a hero’s welcome on his return home from Aintree. He went to Tramore on Sunday where he led the parade with some of my other horses which he seemed to really enjoy. I have decided to put him on his holidays now and give him a well deserved break.
The plan will be to bring him back into training in the middle of July with the aim being the cross country races at Cheltenham before having another crack at the Grand National next April. I feel there are still some big races to be won with Balko and he showed at Aintree he retains a huge amount of ability.
The handicapper put him up 7 pounds to a mark of 159 which shows what a serious horse he is. I am sure he will give us all tremendous fun again next season at major meetings.
I will keep you updated throughout the summer on his progress and RacehorseClub will be organising a stable visit to come and see him later in the year where I look forward to meeting you all. I will be in touch."

11 April 2021: Balko Des Flos Race Review
Well, all we can say is, unbelievable. Balko Des Flos very nearly won the Grand National only to be denied by the superb Rachael Blackmore and Minella Times to finish second. Balko jumped superbly throughout the race getting into a rhythm on the first circuit before jockey Aidan Coleman started to pick his way through the field on the second circuit. Turning in for home he looked to be the winner but a slight mistake at the last fence lost him valuable momentum which enabled Minella Times to win nicely in the end to give trainer Henry De Bromhead the first two home. To finish second in a Grand National is still a dream of a lifetime and we hope you all had a great thrill watching the race. We could not be prouder of Balko and Aidan for doing the steering.
After the race Aidan went to give Balko a pick of grass and reported him to be absolutely fine. He will arrive back at Henry’s yard this morning where both he and Minella Times will receive heroes welcome!
Balko will now have a very easy week and we will make a plan in a week or so with Henry. One thing is for sure, we’re all going to have huge amounts of fun with him going forwards. Many congratulations to you all. We will organise prize money to be distributed once funds are received from Weatherbys which usually takes around a month. Enjoy your day and keep celebrating!

10 April 2021: The big day has arrived for Balko Des Flos!
Welcome to being part of the 2021 Randox Grand National. Race time 5.15pm.
Henry De Bromhead is upbeat about his chances and is expecting him to run well. He was very much still in contention at Cheltenham last time out in the Cross Country before unseating Rachael Blackmore at the cheese wedges. Up until this point he travelled full of zest and Blackmore reported him to “wing the Aintree fences” which should stand him in good stead today. Henry is adamant there are more races in him and if he adapts to the fences and enjoys the early part of the race and gets into a rhythm he could run very well. Aidan Coleman takes the ride who is very much looking forward to it and said last night on Balko Des Flos “he’s a real good ride to pick up, Henry tells me he’ll give me a good spin so let’s hope he gets a bit of luck in running and goes well.” He is currently priced at 100/1 in places which looks tremendous value.
Here’s to a great day ahead.
