Create Belief enjoying her training
Create Belief ready for 2022
Create Belief is back in full training in preparation for the 2022 flat season. She's had her vaccinations today so it is all systems go.
Her first race of the season will be planned at the start of February.
Happy New Year from RacehorseClub
RacehorseClub would like to wish you all a very happy new year. Thank you for your support in 2021 and we very much look forward to enjoying more success together in 2022.
Since launching on 1st April 2021, our very first runner was Balko Des Flos who finished runner up in the Grand National at Aintree. A race which will be remembered forever as it was the amazing Rachael Blackmore and Minella Times who won the race for trainer Henry De Bromhead who trained the first two home.
More great performances on the track soon followed just eight days later when The Lir Jet was narrowly denied in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
The Lir Jet put up some more big performances over the season including in Group 1 company before winning his first start in America, the Group 3 Franklin Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs in September for Brendan Walsh. He is now back in training after a holiday and is being aimed at the Saudi Cup Turf Sprint on 26th February, a race worth $1.5m.
Create Belief has been a superstar since her purchase after her maiden success back in April. She won a valuable premier handicap at the Curragh on Irish Guineas weekend in May before a scintillating performance at Royal Ascot winning the Sandringham Stakes by 5 ½ lengths, arguably the performance of the whole meeting.
Since Royal Ascot, Create Belief improved again to win the Group 3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown. Her trainer Johnny Murtagh did a wonderful job as did her two jockeys Ben Coen and Shane Kelly. Create Belief has a huge year ahead when she will be competing in some of the biggest races in Europe.
Potters Corner has proved to be a huge part of the RacehorseClub team running in both English and Welsh Grand Nationals, with his finest hour coming recently when agonisingly beaten a nose at Cheltenham in the cross-country race. He looks sure to have another big day in him in 2022.
RacehorseClub members have enjoyed stable visits to Michael Bell, Henry De Bromhead, Johnny Murtagh and Christian Williams as well as Zoom calls before big races.
RacehorseClub ambassador Ed Chamberlin has been ever present throughout the year both on and off the racecourse and has enjoyed meeting many members.
Freddy Tylicki joined the management team and has done a great job both on and off the racecourse.
RacehorseClub ambassador Oisin Murphy was crowned champion jockey for the third year in a row, an incredible achievement.
Davy Russell, RacehorseClub’s jumps ambassador has performed miracles since returning from injury and showed he is still at the very top of his game with Grade 1 glory over the Christmas period.
A huge team effort and firstly we thank our brilliant members for their support and loyalty, our fantastic trainers who always put the horse first, our jockeys who give us 100% every time they put on the now hugely distinctive RacehorseClub colours, and finally we thank our four amazing horses who have made dreams a reality in 2021.
Merry Christmas and a small thank you gift from us all!
The team at RacehorseClub would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Thank you for your amazing support this year.
2021 has been a fantastic year both on and off the racecourse for RacehorseClub and our brilliant members. Let's hope for more success together in 2022!

Create Belief to return to Johnny Murtagh this week
Create Belief's holiday is coming to an end and will return to Johnny Murtagh this weekend. The original plan was for her to return at the start of the new year, however the decision has been made to get her back into training earlier to aim at some early season targets.
She has thoroughly enjoyed her break both physically and mentally and it is a hugely exciting year ahead with her.

Create Belief doing very well
RacehorseClub members' Cheltenham experience
Create Belief update
Create Belief continues to be in good form. She seems in very good form in herself and is enjoying her winter break.
Create Belief in for the winter
Create Belief has enjoyed a few weeks being turned out in the paddocks each day which she has really enjoyed after a long season. She has already put on some weight and looks great.
Create Belief enjoying her holiday
Create Belief is enjoying her holidays. She is at Spring Lodge Stud in County Limerick where Peter Molony, who looked after Balko Des Flos on his holidays this summer will oversee Create Belief.
She will return to Johnny Murtagh's in the new year to go back into training for the season ahead.
Create Belief to miss QEII
Create Belief will not run in next Saturday’s Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot. Her trainer, Johnny Murtagh said today, “Create Belief will miss Ascot next week and will go on her holidays for the winter. She has been on the go all year and I think the long season has caught up with her. She hasn’t been sparkling in her training at home this week therefore I think it’s best if we finish her for the year and let her have a well-deserved holiday. It’s very disappointing as I feel she is a Group 1 filly in the making but competing against the top milers in Europe is a stiff task and you must be 100% going into a race like the QEII. She’s a big filly and I think she could be even better next season. She gave me my first Royal Ascot winner as a trainer and there’s more big days ahead in her. She’ll come back to me in the new year, and we’ll then plan for next season. I would like to thank all of her members for the support this season and I'm looking forward to welcoming many of you to the yard on 18th October.”
RacehorseClub’s Freddy Tylicki said, “Johnny thinks its time to give Create Belief a break and bring her back for next season. She’s been a superstar all year for her members. It’s disappointing she’ll miss Ascot, however RacehorseClub must be guided by Johnny Murtagh’s expertise. She will be back next season to contest the biggest races in the calendar so it’s exciting times ahead.”
Members of Create Belief will not be required to pay a renewal fee for next season. Memberships will roll over into 2022 at no extra cost.

Create Belief stable visit confirmed
RacehorseClub is delighted to invite Create Belief's members to Johnny Murtagh's yard on Monday 18th October. Members will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with Create Belief as well as some of Johnny's other stable stars.
To book your place on the stable visit please email email@example.com by 12 noon on Wednesday 13th October.
Time is to be confirmed but is likely start from 10.30am.
Create Belief scratched from Foret
Create Belief has been taken out of the Prix De La Foret at ParisLongchamp on Sunday. The plan will now be to head to Ascot for the QEII on 16th October.
RacehorseClub's Freddy Tylicki visited Johnny Murtagh's yard this morning for the latest update.
Create Belief remains in QEII at Ascot
Create Belief has stayed in the QEII (Group 1) at Ascot on QIPCO British Champions Day on 16th October.
21 horses have stood their ground today at the latest forfeit stage. Updated entries can be seen here.
Create Belief not confirmed for Sun Chariot
Weather watch for Create Belief
"Create Belief continues to be in great form and I hope to run her next weekend either at Newmarket or ParisLongchamp. I'll be keeping an eye on the weather and hoping the rain arrives."
Balko Des Flos Stable Visit
RacehorseClub welcomes members in Balko Des Flos to visit Henry De Bromhead's yard on Tuesday 5th October at 11am.
Members will be able to get up close and personal with Balko and see some of Henry's other stable stars.
Balko Des Flos is due to run in November at Cheltenham in the cross country chase.
Members of Balko Des Flos who would like to attend should register their interest with firstname.lastname@example.org
Henry De Bromhead said "I'm really looking forward to welcoming RacehorseClub members to the yard. Balko is in fantastic form and I'm really looking forward to getting him back on the racecourse in November at Cheltenham."
Shares are still available in this year's Grand National runner-up.
Ask Ed Part 4
RacehorseClub's Ed Chamberlin explains 'How is the race measured?'
Create Belief in top form
"Create Belief continues to be in top form. It was unfortunate she was not able to take her chance last weekend due to unsuitable ground. It looks like the rain is coming as we go into the autumn. We'll look towards running in Group 1's at Newmarket on 2nd October or ParisLonghamp on 3rd October."
Create Belief future plans
It was disappointing that we had to take CREATE BELIEF out of the Matron Stakes. We feel to win a Group 1 soft ground is a huge factor so we have the Sun Chariot in Newmarket on 2/10/21, the Prix de La Foret on 3/10/21 and the QE11 at Ascot on 16/10/21 to consider.
The ground will decide where she goes.
Leopardstown prize money paid out
Create Belief not declared for Matron
Twenty left in Matron after today's forfeit stage
Twenty horses remain in the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday including Create Belief. The ground is currently Good to Firm, Good in Places with rain forecast over the next couple of days. She also has been given an entry in the Group 1 Prix Foret on 3rd October at ParisLongchamp, the same day as the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
We expect shares in Create Belief to be sold out by tomorrow as there are only 10 shares left available in her.
Thursday evening Zoom with Johnny Murtagh and Brendan Walsh
RacehorseClub is delighted to invite you to a Zoom call on Thursday evening at 7pm hosted by Ed Chamberlin. Ed will be joined by Create Belief's trainer Johnny Murtagh ahead of the Matron Stakes on Saturday as well as The Lir Jet's new trainer Brendan Walsh who will be joining us from Kentucky ahead of his race on Saturday night. RacehorseClub's Freddy Tylicki will also be on the call to answer any questions you may have.
Update from Johnny Murtagh on Create Belief
Royal Ascot prize money paid out
Prize money has now been credited to your account balance for Create Belief's Royal Ascot win. Leopardstown prize money will be with you shortly.
Please be reminded that from the total value of prize money won, the jockey and trainer percentages are deducted which is approximately 10% each.

RacehorseClub's Ed Chamberlin explains 'What is a handicap?'
Create Belief continues to thrive
Create Belief is in tremendous form and continues to thrive. Ben Coen rode her work earlier in the week and she went very well. The Matron Stakes (Group 1) at Leopardstown is still the plan for her on 11th September and as usual we will keep an eye on the weather. Hopefully the current heatwave in Ireland ends shortly and we get some rain.
Create Belief out of Tipperary race
Create Belief has been taken out of the Fair Bridge Stakes at Tipperary on 26th August at today's forfeit stage. She will be aimed at the Matron Stakes (Group 1) at Leopardstown on 11th September.
Create Belief in great form after Leopardstown
Johnny Murtagh has reported that Create Belief has come out of Leopardstown in great form. She will now be targeted at the Group 1 Matron Stakes back at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Day, Saturday 11th September.
We are also in the process of finalising a date for the stable visit.

Desmond Stakes Replay
Create Belief review
Create Belief before Desmond Stakes
Create Belief returning to the winners enclosure
Create Belief wins once again Group 3 Desmond Stakes
Create Belief was a hugely impressive winner of the Group 3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown yesterday. She was drawn on the wide outside which meant she was pitched wide for the early stages of the race. She travelled supremely well and quickened clear, she idled towards the finish line once she thought she had done enough. Going into the race Johnny Murtagh was very confident of a big showing and she duly obliged. She was back on quicker ground yesterday which was a possible question mark but she handled it well. She obviously handles very soft ground extremely well but it was reassuring that she does not require just heavy ground.
Johnny Murtagh said "We thought she had come out of Royal Ascot really well. This was a big step up and we wanted to see if she can run to a rating of 110. There wasn't much pace in the race but Shane Kelly said he rode her like the best filly in the race. He said she quickened up and put the race to bed nicely. She idles a little bit and thinks she's done enough in front. She's in the Group 1 Matron Stakes on 11th September and that would look the obvious next step for her. People were talking about that good to yielding ground but if she couldn't go on that then we were in trouble. It was beautiful ground on the slow side of good. As we know she does handle extreme ground well but Shane said she handled that nicer ground very well."
Well done to all members, she really is a horse of a lifetime. The dream continues.
Leopardstown owners ticket ballot winners
Huge congratulations to the following who have won owners tickets to go to Leopardstown tomorrow:
- Ray Collins
- Tim Lawrence

- Gail Browne
We wish you a fantastic evening’s racing supporting Create Belief.
Create Belief in The Desmond Stakes - Preview
Create Belief is due to run tomorrow in the Desmond Stakes (Group 3) over 1 mile for 3-year-olds and up at Leopardstown, 6.30pm live on RacingTV.
Shane B Kelly has been booked to ride as regular jockey Ben Coen is suspended. Shane is Johnny Murtagh’s second jockey and was very keen for him to take the ride. Shane has already enjoyed plenty of success this season on some of Johnny’s best horses including Sonnyboyliston and Ottoman Emperor.
Create Belief is drawn in stall 9 of 9 runners.
Johnny has been very patient with the filly since Royal Ascot due to ground conditions being against her. It would have been very easy to have let her take her chance on quick ground, but he thinks so highly of her that he wants to look after her the best he possibly can.
The ground at Leopardstown is currently yielding with some rain forecast. Hopefully it doesn’t dry up too quickly tomorrow so she can take her chance.
We know that Create Belief relishes soft ground as we saw when winning at The Curragh in May and then again winning easily at Royal Ascot but ideally, Johnny needs to get a run into her before some hefty targets in the autumn. Johnny will walk the course before racing to make sure he is 100% happy with the ground but as things stand, she is expected to run.
Create Belief is the highest rated horse in the race on 110 and receives weight from all her rivals except Neptune Rock. She receives a sex allowance and also an age allowance for being a three year old against some older horses.
Tomorrow is a big step up in grade for her going from handicaps into a group race. She will need to raise her game, but Johnny believes she's improved plenty since Royal Ascot.
Real Appeal looks to be the main danger on paper for Jessica Harrington rated 109 having won a Group 3 at Leopardstown over 7 furlongs last time out but steps back up to a mile for the first time since last July.
Military Style for Aidan O’Brien is coming back from a 333-day absence, but you’d have thought will not be lacking fitness. He is an unexposed colt having only raced four times and is already a Group 3 winner.
Some of Ireland’s biggest trainers are in opposition including Ger Lyons, Jim Bolger Dermot Weld and Joseph O’Brien so to take on these names as well as some of the game’s biggest owners is a great thrill.
Johnny’s thoughts can be seen here:
We’re all very hopeful of a big run and if the rain does arrive, we’ll be disappointed if she didn’t win. She’s going to be a short price favourite so not much value to be had, however a win bet is recommended.
The main thing is she comes back safe and sound so we can all look forward to a fantastic autumn ahead.
We wish you all the very best of luck.

Shane Kelly has been booked to ride as regular rider Ben Coen is suspended.

Ask Ed Part 1
Racing jargon sometimes is difficult to understand so for the next couple of months every Friday we will post another 'Ask Ed'.
This week RacehorseClub and ITV Racing's Ed Chamberlin explains what 'Off the bridle' means.
Create Belief has been entered in the following races this morning:
- Fairy Bridge Stakes (Group 3) at Tipperary on 26th August
- Sun Chariot (Group 1) at Newmarket 2nd October
- QIPCO QE11 (Group 1) at Ascot 16th October
She is in the Desmond Stakes (Group 3) at Leopardstown on the 12th August, and tomorrow the Hurry Harriet (Listed) Stakes at Gowran Park on 11th August closes and we will make an entry for her there. She also has an entry in the Matron (Group 1) at Leopardstown on 11th September.
These are ALL subject to ground conditions and we will be guided by the weather.
"She is going very well, came out of her race in Ascot really well and we are ready to run her when conditions are right."
Create Belief Prize Money Update
RacehorseClub is still waiting to be paid out the prize money won by Create Belief at Royal Ascot. As soon as the prize money is received from Horse Racing Ireland it will be distributed to members immediately.
Create Belief not declared for Galway
I haven’t declared Create Belief for Galway on Tuesday this morning. The ground is good at the moment with only some possible showers forecast. I just don’t want to chance her up and down the undulations of Galway on ground which is going to be too quick for her. We’ll sit tight and wait until she gets her ideal conditions. She’s in very very good form we just have to be patient until the rain comes. We are in Ireland so there’s a great chance that we will get rain! I’ll be in touch with a plan going forwards.
Create Belief entered in Corrib Stakes
Create Belief has been entered in the Corrib Stakes (Listed) at Galway next Tuesday.View entries here
Create Belief entered in Desmond Stakes
Create Belief has been entered this morning in the Desmond Stakes (Group 3) for 3 year olds and upwards over a mile at Leopardstown on 12th August.
She will be entered in the Corrib Stakes (Listed) at Galway tomorrow. This race is next Tuesday, 27th July.
All is well with her and ready to run subject to ground conditions.
Create Belief Non Runner
Create Belief is a non runner in today’s Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh. Johnny didn’t believe that the ground is suitable after walking the course and she will now be aimed at the Corrib Stakes at Galway on 27th July.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we’ll be in touch
Create Belief Kilboy Estate Preview
Create Belief is due to run tomorrow in the Kilboy Estate Stakes (Group 2) over 1 mile 1 furlong for 3-year-olds and up fillies and mares at The Curragh, 3.55pm live on RacingTV.
Ben Coen has once again been booked to ride. She is drawn in stall 2 of 8 runners.
Create Belief is reported to be in fantastic shape ahead of tomorrow's race. The big question mark, as we all know, is the quicker ground. Having spoken to a couple of the jockeys riding at The Curragh today, they described it as beautiful good ground. The track is due to be watered again tonight to keep the ground as good.
We know that Create Belief relishes soft ground as we saw when winning at The Curragh in May and then again winning easily at Royal Ascot.
Johnny Murtagh knows the horse inside out and he will walk the track tomorrow before racing and he will make the decision whether or not to run her.
Create Belief is the highest rated filly in the race on 110 and gets 9 pounds allowance for being a three year old so purely on figures she looks to have a great chance.
Tomorrow is a big step up in grade and also a furlong longer in trip. She will need to raise her game but Johnny believes she's improved again since Royal Ascot.
Angel Power and Insinuendo both look to be obvious dangers. Angel Power trained by Roger Varian returns to the track from a 252 day break but is already a Listed, Group 2 and Group 3 winner.
Insinuendo was beaten just over 3 lengths in a Group 1 last time out at The Curragh which is extremely solid form.
If Johnny believes the ground is too quick, we will look towards the Corrib Stakes at Galway on 27th July.
We wish you all the very best of luck.
Create Belief is currently priced around 2/1 and it is advised to have a small win bet.
