Happy New Year from RacehorseClub
RacehorseClub would like to wish you all a very happy new year. Thank you for your support in 2021 and we very much look forward to enjoying more success together in 2022.
Since launching on 1st April 2021, our very first runner was Balko Des Flos who finished runner up in the Grand National at Aintree. A race which will be remembered forever as it was the amazing Rachael Blackmore and Minella Times who won the race for trainer Henry De Bromhead who trained the first two home.
More great performances on the track soon followed just eight days later when The Lir Jet was narrowly denied in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
The Lir Jet put up some more big performances over the season including in Group 1 company before winning his first start in America, the Group 3 Franklin Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs in September for Brendan Walsh. He is now back in training after a holiday and is being aimed at the Saudi Cup Turf Sprint on 26th February, a race worth $1.5m.
Create Belief has been a superstar since her purchase after her maiden success back in April. She won a valuable premier handicap at the Curragh on Irish Guineas weekend in May before a scintillating performance at Royal Ascot winning the Sandringham Stakes by 5 ½ lengths, arguably the performance of the whole meeting.
Since Royal Ascot, Create Belief improved again to win the Group 3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown. Her trainer Johnny Murtagh did a wonderful job as did her two jockeys Ben Coen and Shane Kelly. Create Belief has a huge year ahead when she will be competing in some of the biggest races in Europe.
Potters Corner has proved to be a huge part of the RacehorseClub team running in both English and Welsh Grand Nationals, with his finest hour coming recently when agonisingly beaten a nose at Cheltenham in the cross-country race. He looks sure to have another big day in him in 2022.
RacehorseClub members have enjoyed stable visits to Michael Bell, Henry De Bromhead, Johnny Murtagh and Christian Williams as well as Zoom calls before big races.
RacehorseClub ambassador Ed Chamberlin has been ever present throughout the year both on and off the racecourse and has enjoyed meeting many members.
Freddy Tylicki joined the management team and has done a great job both on and off the racecourse.
RacehorseClub ambassador Oisin Murphy was crowned champion jockey for the third year in a row, an incredible achievement.
Davy Russell, RacehorseClub’s jumps ambassador has performed miracles since returning from injury and showed he is still at the very top of his game with Grade 1 glory over the Christmas period.
A huge team effort and firstly we thank our brilliant members for their support and loyalty, our fantastic trainers who always put the horse first, our jockeys who give us 100% every time they put on the now hugely distinctive RacehorseClub colours, and finally we thank our four amazing horses who have made dreams a reality in 2021.
Merry Christmas and a small thank you gift from us all!
The team at RacehorseClub would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Thank you for your amazing support this year.
2021 has been a fantastic year both on and off the racecourse for RacehorseClub and our brilliant members. Let's hope for more success together in 2022!
As a small thank you, we are offering you a 10% discount on all horses to be used by 31st December 2021.

The Lir Jet to go on winter holiday
Brendan Walsh has reported today that The Lir Jet will now have his winter break. The Lir Jet suffered a slight setback back last week and Brendan feels it is wise to give him a break and aim for the Saudi Cup meeting at the end of February.
Brendan said "The Lir Jet is fine, I just feel now is the time to give him a rest. He had his first race of the season in April so has been on the go for a long time now. He'll have a couple of months holiday before coming back into training with the aim being the 1351 Sprint at the Saudi Cup meeting in February worth $1 million.

The Lir Jet in good shape after his win
"The Lir Jet has come out of his race on Saturday in good shape. His next run is penciled in to be on 9th October at Keeneland in a 5.5f Grade 2."
The Lir Jet storms home to win Franklin Simpson
The Lir Jet returned to winning form in the Grade 2 Franklin Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs on Saturday evening winning by a very comfortable 1 and 3/4 lengths.
Ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, The Lir Jet never left the inside rail and finished his race very strongly to storm clear inside the final furlong.
Trainer Brendan Walsh said after the race: “I haven’t had The Lir Jet a very long time, but he came to me in very good shape from Michael Bell which made my job very easy. We just took him over when he got off the plane, and here we are.
I thought he was very impressive. It looked like he was always in control and got a great ride. It worked out great. I’m delighted for Qatar Racing who have now won this race for the third consecutive year, and also their partners in the horse, RacehorseClub and their members.
RacehorseClub have had an amazing start over in the U.K. and Ireland. Now Grade 2, Grade 3 and Royal Ascot winners not mentioning a runner up in the Grand National all within six months of launching. It’s great to be part of their team training this wonderful horse. We’ll see how he comes out of the race and make a plan going forwards.”
Tyler Gaffalione who took the ride said post race: “He broke sharp, grabbed a hold of the bit running up the hill. Even going down the hill he grabbed it a little more. I had to wait a little bit longer. He was taking me the whole way. As soon as a spot opened up he accelerated and finished the job."
A truly magnificent performance and huge congratulations to you all. It was not an easy decision to ship The Lir Jet to America but thankfully the planned has worked out and we thank you all for your continued support.

The Lir Jet into exercise in America
The Lir Jet arrived at Brendan Walsh's barn at Turfway Park on Friday evening after clearing mandatory quarantine. He had a lead out to see his new surroundings on Saturday.
He did a light canter on the Turfway Park track on Sunday morning. He is in the second group on the near side. He looks tremendous and will only flourish with some more sun on his back.
Entries can be seen for the Franklin Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs on 11th September by downloading this PDF document.
The Lir Jet to leave quarantine this evening
The Lir Jet safely arrived in America
The Lir Jet has safely arrived in America and is in quarantine at Churchill Downs Racecourse. He travelled over very well and seems very settled. He will remain in quarantine until Friday evening before heading to Brendan Walsh.
The Lir Jet all set for America
The Lir Jet's flight to America has been pushed back 24 hours until tomorrow. He is flying from Stansted Airport to Indianapolis. On arrival in America he will undergo 42 hours mandatory quarantine at Churchill Downs Racecourse.
He will be released from quarantine on Friday evening at which stage he will be transported to Brendan Walsh's barn at Turfway Park which is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes away.
He will then resume training in preparation for the Franklin Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs on 11th September.
The Lir Jet ready for America
"The Lir Jet is due to leave Fitzroy House on Thursday 19th August before being prepared to fly to America. He is healthy and well and we hope he carries on his successful career in America.
It's been a pleasure to meet so many RacehorseClub members this season both on and off the racecourse and I wish you all the very best of luck with The Lir Jet going forward. I'm sure he'll make you all very proud."

The Lir Jet to continue career in America
The Lir Jet has not been declared this morning for the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. He has suffered a very slight setback which will mean he will miss his engagement.
RacehorseClub’s Freddy Tylicki said “The Lir Jet has suffered a very slight setback yesterday, its nothing to worry about but enough to rule him out of Saturday’s race which is unfortunate. After looking through the racing calendar for the rest of the season in England it has been decided that more suitable races are available in America with great prize money on offer. He will be trained by Brendan Walsh in Kentucky who is doing great over there.
Both RacehorseClub and Qatar Racing Limited have had long chats with Michael Bell and together we feel the move is the best way forward for the horse. Michael has done a marvellous job with The Lir Jet with the highlight winning the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last year. RacehorseClub will continue to support Michael as and when the right horse comes along.
We feel it is an exciting opportunity for our members in The Lir Jet with the possibility of having a Breeders Cup runner. He ran very well at Keeneland in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf over a mile last year, so it’ll be great if Brendan can get him to Del Mar."
The Lir Jet will ship to America on Monday 23rd August.
His first assignment will be the $600,000 Franklin Simpson Stakes (Grade 2) at Kentucky Downs over 6.5 furlongs on 11th September.
The Lir Jet confirmed for Newbury on Saturday
The Lir Jet has remained in the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (Group 2) on Saturday at today's confirmation of entry stage.
Michael Bell said this morning "The Lir Jet has been confirmed to run in the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (Class 1) (Group 2) 7f on Saturday 14th August at Newbury, the 3.30pm race. He is in good form and hopefully will give a good account of himself."
Declarations to run are due on Thursday morning at which stage the owners' ticket ballot will take place. All members of The Lir Jet will automatically be entered into the ballot and if successful will be notified by email and telephone.
Members are still welcome to go on their own accord to Newbury if unsuccessful in the ticket ballot and cheer on The Lir Jet by purchasing tickets here.

Racing jargon sometimes is difficult to understand so for the next couple of months every Friday we will post another 'Ask Ed'.
This week RacehorseClub and ITV Racing's Ed Chamberlin explains what 'Off the bridle' means.
The Lir Jet to head to Newbury
"The Lir Jet is training very well and seems to have gotten over his gelding operation. He looks great and I'm very pleased with him. The plan is to go to Newbury on 14th August to run in the Hungerford Stakes which is a Group 2 over 7 furlongs. He ran very well at Newbury earlier in the season in the Greenham so I'm hoping he'll be seen to good effect back on a track he's performed well at."
The Lir Jet has been entered in the following races:
The Park Stakes (Class 1) (Group 2) 7f on Saturday 11th September at Doncaster, the 1.50pm race
The BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (Class 1) (Group 2) 7f on Saturday 14th August, the 3.30pm race.
The Lir Jet continues to be in good shape
"The Lir Jet continues to be in good shape after his work at the weekend. The Hungerford at Newbury on 14th August is firmly the aim."

The Lir Jet set to miss Goodwood
Michael Bell said “We’re going to give Goodwood a miss and go to Newbury instead. I’m really happy with The Lir Jet but I’d just like a little bit more time after his gelding operation and also the Lennox looks like it’s going to be a very hot contest. He ran brilliantly in the Greenham at Newbury earlier in the season so I believe he’ll go into that race with a really good chance.”
The Lir Jet update
